You drive 9 miles west and then another 6 miles north.

Using pythagorean theorem:

6^2 + 9^2 = x^2

36 + 81 = x^2

117 = x^2

square root of 117 = x

10.81665382639197 = x

Rounded ans = 10.8

Answer:

10.8 miles

Explanation:

Use Pythagorean Theorem

a^(2) +b^(2) = c^(2)

9^(2) +6^(2) = c^(2)

c^(2) = 117

c=√(117)

Rounded to 10.8
