First, we need to find the vertex coordinates:

x (vertex) =


x(vertex) = ( - b)/(2a) = ( - 1)/(2 * 1) = ( - 1)/(2) = - 0.5


y(vertex) = { (- 0.5})^(2) + ( - 0.5) = 0.25 - 0.5 = - 0.25
