Explain why the square root of a number is defined to be equal to that numver to the 1/2 power

Explanation:


√(x) = {x}^{ (1)/(2) }

Its like because when you try to cut down it would be


{}^(2) \sqrt{ {x}^(1) }

So to simplify things down it would be


√(x)
