As spongebob once said (in preparation for work), “i am READYYYYYY.”
In actuality, know what is being asked of you. Know what you’re heading into and think about potentially disastrous scenarios in your workplace (and how you would ideally handle them). This will help you better prepare when the time comes.
You don’t need much talent to be a worker (though it can depend on the work you do). In my opinion, you just need to be a hard worker. Effort takes you further than talent ever will. You can acquire any skills through hard work, and your potential increases tenfold when you simply decide to work a smidge harder than your comrades.
You need a decent mindset to become a good worker. You need to be willing to work and accepting of what is being asked of you. You must possess good compliance and complacency. You must possess a secret room in your mind to escape to while you’re working (better to have than to not have it, just in case you might need it one day). You should also possess some kind of common decency and respect for all bodies you meet. Maybe also a decent vocabulary. No matter the workplace, it is always a good thing to have a professional method of communication under your belt.
People take you more seriously when you talk to them like you seriously know something and have the authority to act serious (even if you seriously don’t know anything and have zero authority).
You prepare for work immersion by sucking it up, facing the harshness of reality, realizing you aren’t a billionaire and have to work as a means of survival,
and by telling yourself that you get paid, so it’s okay. And if it’s not okay, it will be (probably once you’re done working).
