One of the central themes of “The Little Red Tortoise” is the importance of determination and perseverance.

How is this theme developed?

Throughout the text, the little red tortoise is determined to finish the race despite the obstacles she faces, such as the other animals teasing her and her small size.

The tortoise’s persistence is demonstrated when she says, “I may be small, but I’ll do my best to win this race.” This attitude of never giving up is what sets her apart from the other animals and helps her to eventually win the race.

The theme of determination and perseverance is further developed through the interactions and actions of the other animals in the race.
