Explanation:

1. You have to turn it into slope-intercept form meaning that you have to isolate y which means you make everything equal to y. The slope intercept form equation is y=mx+b. Where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

2. Subtract 1/3x on both sides

1/3x+2y=8

-1/3x+1/3x+2y=8-1/3x

2y=-1/3x+8

3. Then you divide both sides by 2(Use a calculator if they allow)

2y=-1/3x+8

2y/2=-1/3x+8/2

y=-x+8

4. Plot the point (0,8) which is 8 on the y-axis (the vertical line that goes up and down)

5. Since the slope is negative you want to go down 1 unit and to the right 1 unit and place a point there which will give you your line!
