The Solution:

a=?, c=?, No. of people attending=36

since c is twice as many as a, a= 2a

a + 2a= 36

3a= 36

(divide both sides by 3)

3a/3=36/3

a= 12

therefore, a= 12

since c is equals to 2a,

2a= 2(12)

2a= 24

therefore, c= 24
