well, we know the discount is just 30 - 21 = 9, so hmm if we take 30(origin amount) to be the 100%, what's 9 off of it in percentage?


\begin{array}{ccll} Amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 30 & 100\\ 9& x \end{array} \implies \cfrac{30}{9}~~=~~\cfrac{100}{x} \\\\\\ 30x=900\implies x=\cfrac{900}{30}\implies x=30
