I believe it is x=4, but I need how to work it out pls thxxx

x = 4

Explanation:

using the rule of exponents


a^(-m) =
(1)/(a^(m) ) , then


4^(-x) =
(1)/(4^(x) )

and 256 =
4^(4)

then


(1)/(4^(x) ) =
(1)/(4^(4) )

so


4^(x) =
4^(4)

since bases on both sides are equal, bot 4 then equate exponents

x = 4
