Topic: Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn?

Dear College Admissions Committee,

I vividly remember the time when I failed my first math exam in high school. I had always been a straight-A student and took pride in my academic achievements. This failure hit me hard and made me doubt my abilities. I spent days mulling over my mistakes and feeling sorry for myself.

However, this experience taught me valuable lessons. I learned that failure is a part of life and that it is okay to make mistakes. I also realized that I had been relying too much on my natural talent and not putting in the necessary effort to truly understand the material. This failure made me work harder and seek help from my teachers and peers. I developed better study habits, such as reviewing notes every day and asking questions when I didn't understand something.

In the end, this failure became a turning point for me. Not only did I improve my math skills, but I also developed a growth mindset and resilience that has helped me in all aspects of my life. I now approach challenges with a positive attitude and embrace the learning opportunities that come with failure.
