Why do you think the South was nearly destroyed after the Civil War?

The south’s economy was completely reliant on slavery and so once slavery was abolished business in the region collapsed

Answer: THEY BROKE

Explanation: The south used pretty much all their resources, men, and money on the Civil War just to lose, they almost won...but didn't so their men and economy would absolutely obliterated
