Answer:

400 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

n = number of moles (mol)

c = concentration (mol/dm³)

v = volume (dm³)

Relevant formula:

n = c × v

Note: remember to convert to appropriate units

20 cm³ = 0.02 dm³

n = 2 × 0.02

n = 0.04

This means there is 0.04 moles of the solute, i.e. the substance being diluted;

Since we also know the final concentration, we can work out the volume using the same formula:

0.04 = 0.1 × v

v = 0.04/0.1

v = 0.4 dm³ = 400 cm³
