The inverse of the function is
f^(-1)(x) = (x - 6)/(2)

Given the function :

  • f(x) = 2x + 6:

Replace, f(x) with y and solve for x :

y = 2x + 6

Subtract 6 from both sides:

y - 6 = 2x

Divide both sides by 2:

(y - 6) / 2 = x

x = (y - 6) / 2

Replace y with x to get the inverse f^(-1)(x):

f^(-1)(x) = (x - 6)/(2)

Therefore, the inverse of f(x) = 2x + 6 is
f^(-1)(x) = (x - 6)/(2)
