The lower bound of area of R is 5217cm² and upper bound is 5218 cm² to nearest 1 cm²

How to determine area of similar figures.

Given:

Corresponding side in figure Q = 95 cm

Corresponding side in figure R = 3.1 m

Convert the corresponding side of figure R to centimeters:

3.1 * 100 = 310 cm

Now, since the figures are similar, the ratio of corresponding sides is the same as the ratio of their areas (since the area is proportional to the square of the side length).

Ratio of corresponding sides

= Side of Q/Side of R = 95/310

let's use this ratio to find the lower and upper bounds for the area of R based on the area of Q:

Upper bound of area of R

= (310/95)²* 490

= 96100/9025 * 490

= 5218 cm²

Lower bound of area of R

= 5217 cm²
