Answer: A) 9

==========================================================

Step-by-step explanation:

  • x = smallest
  • x+2 = middle
  • x+4 = largest

I added on 2 each time to get the next term.

We'll add those three expressions.

Then set the sum equal to 33, and solve for x.

x + (x+2) + (x+4) = 33

3x+6 = 33

3x = 33-6

3x = 27

x = 27/3

x = 9 is the answer

--------------

Extra info:

x+2 = 9+2 = 11 is the middle number

x+4 = 9+4 = 13 is the largest

Check:

9+11+13 = 33

The answer is confirmed.
