The equation of the line graphed is y = 2x + 1

How to write the equation

The equation graphed is written in the slope intercept form s below

y = mx + c

where

m = slope

x = intercept

The slope, m is calculated using the points on the graph (1, 3) and (-2, -3)

m = (y₀ - y₁) / (x₀ - x₁)

m = (3 - (-3) / (1 - (-2)

m = (3 + 3) / (1 + 2)

m = 6/3 = 2

Using point (1, 3) and the point - slope formula we solve for c

y - 3 = m (x - 1), m = 2

y - 3 = 2x - 2

y = 2x + 1
