a. The quantity of paper used is 174 cm²

b. The cost of 1 box is $ 0.522

c. The cost of 1,000,000 boxes is $ 522,000

4. Quantity of glass used is 2160 square m

How to find how much paper used

a. To find the quantity of paper used to construct the box we solve for the surface area

The surface area is solved using the formula

= 2 (area of triangle) + 2 (area of rectangles)

= 2 (1/2 * base * height) + 2 (length * width)

= 2 (1/2 * 4 * 3.5) + 2 (20 * 4)

= 2 (7) + 2(80)

= 14 + 160

= 174 cm²

b. At the cost of $ 0.003 per square cm the cost of 1 box

= 0.003 * 174

= $ 0.522

c. The cost of 1,000,000 boxes

= 1,000,000 * 0.522

= $ 522,000

4. Quantity of glass (surface area of the pyramid)

The length of the square base = 36 m

/The slant height (height of triangle) = 30 m

Surface area of the pyramid = 4 (area of the triangle)

Surface area of the pyramid = 4 (1/2 * 36 * 30)

Surface area of the pyramid =4 (540)

Surface area of the pyramid =2160 square m
