BD = 5.4

Explanation:

given

EB = ED = 5.8 , then

Δ BED is isosceles , with EC being a perpendicular bisector of BD , then

BC = CD = 2.7 , so

BD = BC + CD = 2.7 + 2.7 = 5.4
