An artist builds a sculpture out of metal and wood that weighs 14.4 kilograms. 3/4 of this weight is metal, and the rest is wood. How much does the wood part of the sculpture weigh?

Answer: weight of wood part = 3.6 kilogram.

Explanation:

Sculpture made of both metal and wood = 14.4 kilogram

Weight of metal=3/4 of 14.4 kilogram

which means the weight of metal = 3/4 x 14.4kg= 10.8kg

Since the rest is wood, we can say that

weight of wood = Total weight - weight of metal

= 14.4 kilogram- 10.8 kilogram= 3.6 kilogram
