The three levels of immunity are:
Innate immunity
This is a general protection that everyone is born with. It's also known as non-specific immunity and is the body's first line of defense against pathogens.
Adaptive immunity
This immunity develops throughout our lives. It's also known as specific immunity and is developed after exposure to a specific pathogen.
Passive immunity
This immunity is "borrowed" from another source and lasts for a short time.
The immune system has three lines of defense:
Outer barriers: These include the skin.
Non-specific immune cells: These include macrophages and dendritic cells.
Specific immune system: This is made of lymphocytes like B- and T-cells.
