Yes, oxymoron is correct because it is a figure of speech. Someone’s eyes CANT hold the promise of a new day. Another example of oxymoron: alone together or definitely maybe. You can’t be alone if you & another person are together. Maybe means there is a possibility of the answer being yes, but definitely means yes. Oxymorons are words that contradict each other.
