Why bacteria generally dies in the presence of oxygen ?​

Bacteria that require oxygen to grow are called "obligate aerobic bacteria". Without oxygen they generally die since these bacteria require oxygen to grow.

Their methods of energy production and respiration depend on the transfer of electrons to oxygen.
