There are six checkout tills at a small supermarket. Two of the tills have comfy seats. What is the probability an employee will get a till with a comfy seat?

Explanation:

The total amount of tilts is 6

The amount of tilts with comfortable seats is 2

So there are two tilts with comfortable seats out of six tilts that are in the supermarket

Now write it as fraction:


(2)/(6) =
(2*1)/(2*3) (alternatively 2/6)

Here we get the probability

(2*1)/(2*3) =
(1)/(3) (alternatively 1/3)
