The Wizard of Oz is a children's novel written in 1900 by L. Frank Baum. It follows the story of Dorothy Gale, a young girl from Kansas who is swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. She embarks on a journey with her dog Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion to find the Wizard of Oz who can help her get back home. Along the way, they face a number of obstacles, including a wicked Witch and her flying monkeys. After a series of adventures, Dorothy and her companions eventually reach the Emerald City and meet the Wizard of Oz, who grants them each their wishes and helps Dorothy find her way home.
