Use the U.S. Census documents on the AP U.S. History Research Library to obtain data about the social, demographic, and economic impacts of the early Industrial Revolution on American society between 1800 and 1850. Supplement anything you can't find in these documents with additional web research. The documents you will be reading are:

1. Abstract of the Returns of the Fifth Census, 1832
2. Compendium of the Enumeration of the Inhabitants and Statistics of the United States, 1841
3. Historical Statistics of the United States, Colonial Times to 1970, Part 1
4. Return of the Whole Numbers of Persons Within the Several Districts of the United States, 1801
5.The History and Growth of the United States Census, 1900
7. The Seventh Census of the United States, 1850

Record your research findings in an organized way. You may want to create a table, chart, or graphic organizer. Make sure to keep track of your sources and take not es on each of the following:
Percentage of the population in different occupations (and in different regions, if possible)
Age structure of the population and of the working population
Salary or income for different types of occupations (and for men compared to women)
Type of dwelling/residence at each income level
Comparison of disparity among upper, middle, and working classes in terms of family life, life expectancy, education, and other aspects of life, where data are available
Comparison of income among different sectors of the working class (see primary source document below)

Answer:

I can tell you that the early Industrial Revolution in the U.S. (1800-1850) had significant social, demographic, and economic impacts. It led to urbanization, with many people moving to cities to work in factories. This shift changed the demographic makeup of the country. Economically, it led to the growth of a market economy and increased production and consumption of goods.
