The remaining amount of meat is ...

6 1/2 - 2 1/4 = 4 1/4 = 17/4 . . . pounds

The number of 1/4 pound burgers that can be made with that amount of meat is ...

(17/4)/(1/4) = 17/1 = 17

ANSWER = 17

Answer:

17 burgers

Explanation:

6.5 - 2.25 = 4.25

4.25 converted back to a fraction is 4 1/4

so divide that into fourths

4 1/4 = 17

its really hard to explain that part, so sorry if it's confusing :(

but he ended up making 17 burgers
