You can find them by seeing where the shape (colored in blue) intervenes with the black lines. The vertical one (going up and down) is the y-axis and the horizontal one (going left and right) is the x-axis.

What exactly is an intersect though? It's when the main shape itself PASSES through one of those axis.

In this case, there is no x-intersect, but there is a y-intersect. The answer being an exact coordinate where they meet. I'll give you a hint and leave you off to figure this out yourself, it's on the positive end of the y-axis.
