Te measure of x and y are -1 and 23 respectively

Triangles are known to be similar if the measure of their sides or angles are equal.

Since the triangle ABC is similar to FDE, hence:

BC = DE

3x + 8 = 5

3x = 5 - 8

3x = -3

x = -1

Similarly

y + 5 = 28

y = 28 - 5

y = 23

Hence the measure of x and y are -1 and 23 respectively
