Liana's mom gave her permission to paint a mural on her bedroom wall, but first her mom wants to see what Liana is planning. She asks Liana to create a scale drawing of the wall with the mural. Liana created her scale drawing by using a scale factor of 116 . In her drawing, the wall is 34 foot wide and 12 foot high. What are the dimensions of the actual wall?

The dimensions of the actual wall is 12 feet wide and 8 feet high.

In Mathematics and Geometry, a scale factor can be determined through the division of the dimension of the image (new figure) by the dimension of the original or actual geometric figure (pre-image).

Mathematically, the formula for calculating the scale factor of any geometric object or figure is given by:

Scale factor = side length of image/side length of pre-image

1/16 = New height/Actual width

1/16 = (3/4)/Actual width

Actual width = 3/4 × 16

Actual width = 12 feet.

For the actual height, we have:

1/16 = New height/Actual height

1/16 = (1/2)/Actual height

Actual height = 1/2 × 16

Actual height = 8 feet.
