Alex is trying to save $230 to buy a new tablet. Right now, he has $40 and can save $38 a week from

his allowance. Write and solve an inequality that can be used to find the minimum number of weeks it
will take Alex to have the money to buy the tablet. Write a sentence to interpret your solution.

He already has forty dollars so we can take forty away from two hundred and thirty. This leaves us with $190 that we need to save.

If he is saving $38 per week. We can divide or estimate and multiply. I prefer to multiply so that is the method I will use right now.

38×5= 190

Therefore, Alex will have enough money to buy a tablet in five weeks.
