The value of x when y is 20is calculated to be 20

How to predict the value

The value is predicted using the equation of the line of best fit

The equation graphed is written in the slope intercept form s below

y = mx + c

where

m = slope

x = intercept

The slope, m is calculated using the points on the graph (4, 8) and (0, 5)

m = (y₀ - y₁) / (x₀ - x₁)

m = (8 - 5) / (4 - 0)

m = (3) / (4)

m = 3/4

c = y intercept, from the graph

c = 5

The equation of the line is y = 3/4 x + 5

For y = 20

20 = 3/4 x + 5

20 - 5 = 3/4 x

3/4 x = 15

x = 4 * 15 / 3

x = 20
