The graph is a relation. The domain of the relation [-5,1] and the range is [-2,6].

Determination of a graph as a function or a relation.

A function is a relation whereby an input variable (x) is usually assigned to an output variable (y). The x-value is the domain and the y-value is the range.

For a graph to be considered as a function, it must pass the vertical line test. The vertical line test is a test where a vertical straight line is draw on the graph, if the vertical line intersects the graph more than one point, then we can conclude that the graph is not a function, hence it will be a relation.

From the given graph, we use the vertical line test to determine whether the graph is a function or a relation and we can conclude that the graph is a relation.
