The cost Equation is : y = 50x + 200 . The graph for a period of 9 months is attached below.

Using the information given :

  • starting cost , c = 200
  • monthly charge, b = 50

We can relate the cost of the Cellphone plan in slope-intercept form thus :

  • Cost = bx + c

Now we have :

y = 50x + 200

Hence, the cost equation is y = 50x + 200

The cost over a period of 9 months is :

x = 9

y = 50(9) + 200

y = 650
