So what I like to do is actually round down your total to an even number.

So in this case 85 would round down to the even number of 84.

Now she uses 4 per bracelet so you want to do :

84 / 4

=

21

Alright so now we have to remember we took one bead off to make the number even.

That would be one bead since 85 - 84 = 1

So she made 21 bracelets and had 1 bead left over.
