The officers would have to be b. 761,307

The net cash flow is a. $290

How to get the officers

solve for the percentage increase

(61000 - 52000 )/ 52000 * 100

= 0.1730769231

Minimum increase = 0.1730769231

Calculate the number of police officers needed in 2016:

Increase = (New value - Old value) / Old value

0.1730769231 = (New value - 648,982) / 648,982

648,982 * 0.1730769231 = (New value - 648,982)

112323.80770728 + 648982 = new value

761,307 = new value

Hence the officers would have to be b. 761,307

2. Net cash flow = 2,040 - 1,750

= a. $290

The net cash flow is a. $290

Note that I did not approximate in the frst answer in order to get the exact value in the options
