Solving the expression results to

a. N(-2) = 1 1/3

b. N(0) = 2/3

c. N(5) = -1

How to find the function

The function is solved by substitution as required

According to the problem we have the equation N(x) = -1 -1/3x + 1 2/3

rearranging the equation results to

N(x) = -1/3x + 2/3

a. For x = -2

N(-2) = -1/3 (-2) + 2/3

N(-2) = 2/3 + 2/3

N(-2) = 4/3

N(-2) = 1 1/3

b. For x = 0

N(0) = -1/3 (0) + 2/3

N(0) = 0 + 2/3

N(0) = 2/3

c. For x = 5

N(5) = -1/3 (5) + 2/3

N(5) = -5/3 + 2/3

N(5) = -1
