Laine had a babysitting service the summer before she left for Georgia tech. She earned $1200. While she did spend some of it on new college clothes she saved quite a bit to have some spending money while away at college. The following table shows her bank account balance over a 9-week period in the fall semester

a. The scatter plot and trend line is attached

b. The equation of the linear model is: y = -24.68x + 839.31

c. The balance after 10, 15, and 20 weeks are 592.51, 469.11 and 345.71 respectively

d. The table, graph and table is related in the sense that it shows negative linear slope. As numbers of weeks increases money left decreases. The spending habit is linear

How to find the balance

The balance is solved using the equation of the linear model

y = -24.68x + 839.31

For x = 10 weeks

y = -24.68 * 10 + 839.31 = 592.51

For x = 15 weeks

y = -24.68 * 15 + 839.31 = 469.11

For x = 20 weeks

y = -24.68 * 20 + 839.31 = 345.71
