The value of x, given that one of the angles in isosceles triangle is 48, is 84

How to find the value of x?

Considering the diagram given, the triangle is clearly an isosceles

We shall apply the isosceles triangle rule which gives the idea that in an isosceles triangle, two of the angles are equal.

Now, we shall calculate for x in the isosceles triangle as illustrated below:

  • Angle given = 48
  • Value of x =?

Sum of angles in an isosceles triangle = 180

x + 48 + 48 = 180

x + 96 = 180

Subtract 96 from both sides, we have:

x + 96 - 96 = 180 - 96

x = 84

From the above calculation, we can conclude that the exact value of x in the diagram is 84
