We know that the measure of a line is 180 degrees. We do 38 + 60 + a = 180 degrees because all those angles are on the same line. Then we solve for a. 38+60=98. Now we have 98+a=180 degrees. Subtract 98 on both sides. a = 82 degrees.

Answer: Measure of angle A = 82 degrees.
