y = 1, and x = -1

if you need to show your work:

if you combine the two equations together (eliminating x), it goes like this

-3x - 4y = -1

3x - y = -4

-5y = -5

y = 1

this means:

-3x - 4 = -1

-3x = 3

x= -1

and

3x - 1 = -4

3x = -3

x = -1
