(It is NOT -5, 5, -6, 6 I kept on getting that as the answer)

So the answer would be x=-1

Distribute:

`(6)(x)+(6)(-2)=-18`

`6x-12=-18`

Add 12 to both sides:

`6x-12+12=-18+12`

`6x=-6`

Divide both sides by 6:

`(6x)/(6) =(-6)/(6)`
