given f(x) = 2x + 3 and g(x) = x-5?​

Answer:

f(g(x)) = 2x - 7

g(f(x)) = 2x - 2

Explanation:

basically, you just want to plug in the g(x) function wherever you see an x in the f(x) function

f(g(x)) = 2(x - 5) + 3

= 2x - 10 + 3

= 2x - 7

the inverse function is doing the same thing but plugging in f(x) wherever you see an x in the g(x) function

g(f(x)) = (2x + 3) - 5

= 2x + 3 - 5

= 2x -2
