can somebody please try to break down how to solve systems of equations by substitution as much as possible? i've used so many apps but i still can't get a grasp of it. please!!! 20 points. please don't answer just for the points!!!

okay, so let's take an example problem:

y = x + 4 where "y" = 5

so first, you plug in 5 in "y"'s place like so:

5 = x + 4

then, you solve for "x"

5 - 4 = 1

so therfore:

x = 1
