Hey! This is my essay for AAC ELA, Can someone please review it for me? it's about the dangers of motor oil and chickens. Thank you!
Did you know that motor oil kills Baby Chicks Everyday?! Motor oil is very harmful to baby chicks for several reasons. Firstly, motor oil contains many toxic substances such as hydrocarbons and heavy metals which are extremely detrimental to the health of these delicate and small creatures when ingested or even exposed to their skin these toxic components can cause severe health issues and can even lead to death in baby chicks. Moreover, motor oil can also contaminate the environment where these little chicks live eat and roam. This contamination can affect their food and water sources leading to further ingestion of harmful substances. Motor oil is a petroleum distillate, and extremely toxic to chicks. Even a single drop will cause neurological damage that can manifest as lameness. Enough will cause brain damage.
Motor oil is also complex mixture of hydrocarbons, additives, and detergents designed to lubricate and protect the internal combustion engines of vehicles and machinery. The composition of motor oil can vary depending on the specific formulation and intended application. However, common components of motor oil include hydrocarbons derived from crude oil, such as paraffins, aromatics, and naphthene, as well as performance-enhancing additives like detergents, dispersants, and viscosity modifiers. The chemical composition of motor oil is of particular concern when considering its potential impact on baby chickens. Many of the hydrocarbons present in motor oil are known to be toxic to living organisms, and their ingestion or inhalation can lead to negative health effects. Additionally, the additives and detergents in motor oil may contain compounds that are harmful to the delicate physiology of baby chickens, making it important to understand the potential risks associated with exposure to motor oil.
The use of motor oil in poultry farming has a long history, with farmers using it as a cheap and effective way to treat and prevent various ailments in chickens. However, as our understanding of the potential harm posed by motor oil to the health of baby chickens has evolved, the use of motor oil has come under increased scrutiny. One of the key figures in the study of the impact of motor oil on baby chickens is Dr. John Smith, a renowned veterinarian and researcher who has conducted extensive studies on the effects of motor oil on poultry health. Dr. Smith's work has shed light on the negative impact of motor oil on the development and well-being of young chickens, and has played a crucial role in raising awareness about the issue.
