Scenario (fictional) Coliapsible Workspaces (CW) creates workspaces based on client needs worldwide. They are a hybrid company mixing online contracting an manulacturing plants located in three countres: The U.S., Spain, and Malaysia. They primarily creale small office spaces for up to 10 persons that can then be collapsed and moved to another site in remote areas. The company, in furn, subcontracts a shipping line in each of these three countries that carry the collapsible offices to ports around the world and then trucks the offices to the client site. Companies subscribe on a contractual basis for this collaps ible office service once the have initially paid for the construction of the offices. Each team is headed by a senior installer who supervises the two installers, the shipping company contact, and the truckersi. Lately, there have been problems botween the installers, the subcontracted shippers, and truckers who must work as a team to get each job compieted at the locatic on time. The shippers and the truckers all say that CW orvisors are not their supervisors. The teams seem stuck in the storming stage (see Exhibit 12.2). This problem has led to delays in instatlations and cost overnuns. Assessment Checklist -

Final answer:

To build more effective teams with their subcontractors, Collapsible Workspaces (CW) should focus on clear communication and expectations, training and development, and regular communication and feedback.

Step-by-step explanation:

To build more effective teams with their subcontractors, Collapsible Workspaces (CW) can take the following steps:

  1. Clear communication and expectations: CW should clearly communicate their expectations to the subcontractors, including deadlines, quality standards, and roles and responsibilities of each team member. This can reduce misunderstandings and conflicts.
  2. Training and development: CW can provide training and development opportunities to the installers, shippers, and truckers to enhance their skills and teamwork capabilities. This can improve their performance and ability to work together effectively.
  3. Regular communication and feedback: CW should establish regular communication channels and provide constructive feedback to the teams. This can foster collaboration, address any issues or conflicts, and improve overall team dynamics.
