Answer:

86.8 m long

Explanation:

A pole that is 2.5 m tall casts a shadow that is 1.34 m long. At the same time, a nearby building casts a shadow that is 46.5 m long. How tall is the building? Round to the nearest meter

We solve the above question using the Proportion formula:

Height of the pole/Shadow of the pole = Height of the building /Shadow of the building

Height of the pole = 2.5m

Shadow of the pole = 1.34 m

Height of the building = x

Shadow of the building = 46.5m

Hence:

2.5m/1.34m = x/46.5m

Cross Multiply

1.34m × x = 2.5m × 46.5m

x = 2.5m × 46.5m/1.34m

x = 86.753731343m

Approximately , The height of the building = 86.8 m
