gas station. Your friend pays $22.75 for 5 gallons of the same type of gasoline and 1 quart of the same type of oil.
a. Is there enough information to determine the cost of 1 gallon of
gasoline and 1 quart of oil? Justify your answer.
b. The receipt shown is for buying the same type of gasoline and same type of oil. Is there now enough information to determine the cost of 1 gallon of gasoline and 1 quart of oil? Justify your answer.

a. There is not enough information to determine the cost of 1 gallon of gasoline and 1 quart of oil because the prices of gasoline and oil are not specified individually in the given information.

b. Even with the receipt showing the same type of gasoline and oil, the quantities purchased by you and your friend are different. Without knowing the individual prices for gasoline and oil, it's still not possible to determine the cost of 1 gallon of gasoline and 1 quart of oil.
