On this day in 1930, Pluto, a former planet, was discovered. Later scientists decided Pluto was a dwarf planet. What is

your personal opinion about the scientists no longer considering Pluto to be the 9th planet? Do you think they are correct, or do you think Pluto should have remained a planet? Why?

Personally, I think that scientists no longer considering Pluto to be the 9th planet is correct because planets and dwarf planets are different in size. Because they are smaller, dwarf planets lack the gravitational forces needed to pull in and accumulate all of the material found in their orbits. Each known dwarf planet in our solar system is actually smaller than Earth's Moon. I think Pluto should have not remained a planet because Pluto is small in size and does not fit in with the rest of the planets.
