Length = 18 meters

Explanation:

Let the length of the rectangular pool = l meters

And breadth of the pool = w meters

Perimeter of the rectangular pool = 2(l + 2w)

Since, perimeter of the rectangular pool is 72 meters.

2(l + 2w) = 72

l + 2w = 36 --------(1)

If length of the pool is twice of its breadth,

l = 2w

w =
(l)/(2) -------(2)

By substituting the value of 'w' from equation (2) to equation (1),


l+2*{(l)/(2)}=36

2l = 36

l = 18 meters
