Answer:

equation for left side:
y=3x+2

equation for right side:
y=3x-10

equation for top side:
y=5

equation for bottom side:
y=-1

Explanation:

Slope intercept form is y=mx+b

m=slope

b= y intercept

Equation for left side:

We can find slope using points (0,2) and (1,5) in the formula
(y_(2) -y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

(5-2)/(1-0)\\ (3)/(1)

3\\

The y intercept is 2 since we see the line intersect the y axis at 2

So we fill in the equation with this information

y=3x+2

Equation for right side:

Since the line is parallel to the other one then the slope will be the same which is 3

and to find y intercept we fill in the equation with what we know first

y=3x+b

Now we fill in any point to find y intercept and I will use (4,2)

2=3(4)+b\\2=12+b\\-10=b

Now that we find b we put that into the equation

y=3x-10

Equation for top side:

Since this is flat the slope is zero

and we can continue to find that the y intercept is at 5

and we can fill in this information and then simplify

y=0x+5\\y=5

Equation on bottom side:

Since this is also flat the slope is zero and we can see the y intercept is at -1

So once again we fill in what we know then simplify

y=0x-1\\y=-1

Hope this helps please let me know if you have further questions or if this is confusing
